**THEOLOGY BOOKS PRIOR TO 1950** Posted: 1/11/2008 9:38:07 PM

I'm a pastor who enjoys collecting copies (first printings if possible) of the early works of Karl Barth, Emil Brunner, Reinhold Niebuhr and H. Richard Niebuhr. I'm not thinking that these books are going to be worth a great deal down the road, but I enjoy purchasing the older copies as opposed to buying a new book. I'm very inexperienced when it comes to tracking down old books (and book collecting)and the only source which I've utilized thus far is the internet. However, I've searched AddAll (sp?),ABE, Book Finder and have found it very hard to locate some of these books that still have nice dust jackets, are not all marked up or are not ex-library copies. I don't have to have a perfect copies, but do enjoy nice books. Are the types of books for which I'm looking actually getting hard to locate or have I just not looked in the right places or not been patient enough. Also, are there booksellers who specialize in this type of stock and if so, would you please recommend them. Thanks so much. JAS

A few days ago I came into possesion of Hitchcock's New And Complete Analysis Of The Holy Bible. It appears to be a first print from June 15, 1869. I thought that you might be interested in it.
